Mason Lang is flashing legit pop for SDSU’s catching corps
Mason Lang, South Dakota State’s 6-1, 205-pound sophomore catcher from Chaska, Minn., brings a left-handed bat, versatile corner/backup-catcher value, and real offensive upside—he hit .294 in limited 2025 action and has already shown 2026 game-changing pop, including his first collegiate homer and a key three-RBI night in March 2026. He’s the kind of glue-guy who can quietly swing a game: physical, patient, and productive enough to matter even when he’s not the everyday headline.
