Kelowna Ngoyi brings high-IQ depth and academic edge to SIU’s backcourt
Kelowna Ngoyi is a 5-foot-10 sophomore guard for Southern Illinois from Montreal, and her calling card is reliability: she appeared in 24 games in the 2025-26 season and was also named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team with a 3.92 GPA in computer science. Her on-court role has been modest so far — in the 2025-26 season she averaged 0.5 points and 0.4 rebounds in 3.4 minutes per game — but that doesn’t tell the whole story. She looks like a disciplined, coachable guard who adds depth, professionalism, and brains to the rotation.
