Versatile, High-Motor Forward Who Helped Iowa State Win Big
In his 2016-17 season at Iowa State, Darrell Bowie was a reliable, do-everything forward who averaged 5.8 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 48.8% from the field and ranking third on the team with 18 blocks and adding 22 steals.[2][1] His value went beyond box-score scoring: he brought toughness, rim protection, rebound production, and winning experience, including a strong late-season stretch during Iowa State’s Big 12 title run.[2][4] A shoulder injury had previously interrupted his production at Northern Illinois, so durability was part of the evaluation, but when healthy he looked like a physical, productive fit for a contender.[3][7]
