Workhorse Lefty Showing Real Swagger in MVSU’s Rotation
In the 2025 season, Mississippi Valley State pitcher Logan Darnell led the Delta Devils in major pitching categories with 57 innings, 49 strikeouts, 17 appearances, and a 6.44 ERA, and he was selected for the 2025 MLB HBCU Swingman Classic[2]. In the 2026 season, he’s been used as both a starter and leverage arm, including a first save in conference play and a couple of scoreless multi-inning outings, which points to a pitcher coaches trust when the game gets spicy[11][13][15]. The appeal is clear: he’s a durable, strike-throwing arm with enough flexibility to help in different roles, plus he’s a conference honor-roll student, which is usually a very good sign for fit and buy-in[2].
