Matthew Spada brings a live left arm and late-blooming upside to Boston College
Spada entered Boston College after a strong 2024 at Wesleyan, where he posted a 1.01 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 26.2 innings and two saves, and BC coach Greg Sullivan called him a low-90s lefty with a really good breaker and upside. In 2025 at Boston College, he worked mostly in relief and logged a 1-0 record with an 8.31 ERA over 4.1 innings, so the raw stuff clearly intrigues, but his role is still about proving consistency. If you want a developmental LHP with deception, strike-throwing potential, and some sneaky bite, he’s worth the look.
