Cal Poly’s veteran paint presence with real defensive bite
Awich is a proven, high-motor forward who brings rim protection, rebounding, and senior leadership to Cal Poly; in the 2015-16 season he ranked fifth in the Big West with 1.3 blocks per game and averaged 8.7 points and 6.1 rebounds while starting 28 of 29 games. He’s the kind of frontcourt piece who can change possession outcomes with activity and toughness, not just scoring, and reports from the time highlighted him as a captain and defensive anchor in the paint. If a team wants a seasoned, physical glue guy who competes hard and raises the floor, Awich fits nicely.
