Bel Varadi gives App State a left-handed circle presence with proven command and toughness
Varadi is a left-handed pitcher who arrived at App State with elite high-school production—over 600 strikeouts, a sub-1.00 ERA in each of her last three prep seasons, and captain-level leadership—and she has already shown she can give the Mountaineers quality innings, including a five-inning, no-earned-run start in 2026.[1][2][3] Her differentiators are deception, strike-throwing, and composure: she has consistently limited walks, flashed swing-and-miss stuff, and earned All-State recognition, making her a good fit for a staff that values reliability, competitive edge, and a pitcher who can handle pressure.[2][7][9]
