a durable, high-upside arm whose comeback arc makes him worth the watch
In the 2026 season, Cal Clark has shown real value as a versatile right-handed arm for App State, already earning wins and pitching in leverage spots after overcoming a near-lost 2024 campaign because of injury. The differentiators: a 6-foot-4 frame, a strong recruiting pedigree, and a resilience factor that coaches love—he transferred from Charlotte, battled back from arm trouble, and still brought enough stuff to work both starts and relief outings. He looks like a good fit for a staff that prizes toughness, adaptability, and upside.
