Ryan McPherson gives Mississippi State a power right-hander with closing experience
McPherson has already shown he can handle leverage innings: in the 2025 season at Mississippi State, he made 20 appearances, logged 39 1/3 innings, went 4-1, posted a 4.12 ERA, and tied for the team lead with three saves[2]. USA Baseball also notes that with the Collegiate National Team he led the squad in wins and tied for the team lead in strikeouts, signaling a competitive arm that can miss bats in important spots[1]. At 6-3 and 205, he brings a sturdy frame and bullpen versatility, making him a fit for teams that value a physical, high-upside RHP who can pitch under pressure[1][2].
