Mitchell Schares gives St. Thomas a long, disruptive linebacker presence
In the 2025 season, Mitchell Schares appeared in 11 of 12 games for St. Thomas and finished with 28 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, three quarterback hurries, and a pass breakup; he also posted a season-high seven tackles against Lindenwood.[1] At 6-foot-4 and 233 pounds, he brings rare length for a linebacker, plus the kind of production that suggests a steady, assignment-sound defender with real play-making instincts around the ball.[1] He’s a good fit for a team that values size, special-teams usefulness, and a linebacker who can create chaos without freelancing too much.[1]
