Nick Balcom Gives Quinnipiac a Workhorse Right-Hander With Strikeout Pop
In the 2026 season, Quinnipiac RHP Nick Balcom showed real swing-and-miss ability, logging 47 strikeouts in 45.2 innings over 16 appearances while making 10 starts, and he backed it up with multiple strong outings, including nine strikeouts in 5.1 innings at Marist and eight strikeouts in six innings against Canisius. He’s a senior, a sturdy 6-3 right-hander, and the profile says “competitor” more than “pretty stats”: he’ll take the ball, grind, and give you innings, even if the run prevention has been uneven. If a staff needs toughness, strikeout upside, and a pitcher who can handle starter’s responsibility, he’s a legit fit.
