Claire Borg gives Detroit Mercy a captain’s spark at the plate and in the dugout
In the 2026 season, Claire Borg has been a true two-way tone-setter for Detroit Mercy, earning Horizon League All-Third Team honors while ranking among the Titans’ most productive bats with a .262 average, 2 home runs, 9 RBI, and a team-best .948 OPS in conference play. She’s the kind of player coaches love: a captain, a SAAC/community-service leader, and an Academic All-League performer with a 3.97 GPA, bringing consistency, leadership, and competitive poise rather than just box-score noise. If you want a gritty, high-character utility piece who can pitch, play infield, and steady a roster, Borg fits beautifully.
