Ijlal Barnes brings San Diego pedigree and a winning track record to SDSU
Barnes is a San Diego native who arrived at San Diego State after earning all-league honors at Mesa Junior College and leading Mt. Miguel to three straight league titles and a CIF championship, which signals competitiveness, consistency, and a history of winning. Her profile suggests value beyond box-score stats: a multi-sport background, strong academic reputation, and local roots that often translate to toughness, discipline, and buy-in. She looks like a fit for a team that wants a reliable, team-first forward with proven leadership and a steady, high-intensity presence.
