Jahmel Johnson brings veteran DB energy and proven tackling pop to LIU
Jahmel Johnson is a familiar-name defensive back for LIU, listed on the Sharks’ roster after previously appearing in the program, and the profile that stands out is his experience and physical reliability in the secondary. Publicly available season stats tied to a player with the same name show a strong tackle-forward skill set in 2024 at TCU, suggesting a safety/DB who can support the run and play with a steady, no-drama edge. If LIU wants a defender who fits as a tough, assignment-sound piece rather than a flashy highlight machine, he looks like a practical fit.
