seasoned UConn linebacker with a special-teams edge
Brandon Steg is a veteran Connecticut linebacker whose value shows up in reliability, toughness, and versatility rather than splashy stat lines; in the 2011 season he played in all 12 games and totaled 17 tackles, including a six-tackle game against West Virginia, and UConn later listed him as someone competing for a starting role after handling special teams and linebacker work. His profile suggests a hard-nosed, assignment-sound fit for teams that want depth, effort, and physicality in the middle of the defense.
