Weston Sturzinger brings size, special-teams grit, and freshman-year upside to YSU’s secondary
In the 2025 season, Weston Sturzinger flashed as a reserve defensive back and special-teams contributor for Youngstown State, appearing in six games and logging 8 tackles (6 solo), with his busiest outing coming against Murray State. At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, he has the frame coaches love for a DB who can grow into more coverage responsibility, and his background as a three-star recruit who was a two-way high school playmaker suggests real athletic juice. He looks like a steady, physical fit for a depth role now with room to climb if his development keeps pace.
