Devarick Houston brings efficient, physical frontcourt production to UMBC
Houston has been a steady forward for UMBC, averaging 5.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists on 42.3% shooting, which points to a usable all-around frontcourt role rather than a pure scorer. His value is in activity and versatility: historical UMBC notes show he can fill the stat sheet with rebounds, steals, and blocks, suggesting an energetic, multi-effort player who impacts possessions beyond scoring. For a team, he fits best as a hard-nosed glue guy who can defend, rebound, and do the little things reliably.
