WVU Safety with Scout Team Champion Intensity and Redshirt Resilience
Ismail Showell, a 5'10", 194-lb Safety for West Virginia (Class Fr., redshirted), stands out not just for his 2011 WVU Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year title but for his relentless intensity and redshirt resilience that statistics can't capture. As a former Scout Team Champion and Rutgers High School standout from Ventnor, NJ, Showell brings a unique differentiator: the grit of a player who earned top scout honors before transitioning to varsity, reflecting a personality defined by hard work over flash. His injury history is minimal, and his intensity level is elite, making him a perfect fit for teams needing a high-motor safety who thrives in pressure. You should care because Showell embodies the 'workhorse' mentality—ideal for coaches valuing consistency, leadership, and a player who turns scout-team excellence into varsity impact.
