JD Czech brings veteran versatility and blue-collar reliability to SIU’s tight end room
JD Czech is a 6-1, 243-pound veteran tight end/long snapper for Southern Illinois who has seen the field across multiple seasons, including appearances in 2023, 2022, and 2021, after adding 6 catches for 58 yards at Ellsworth CC in 2020. His value is less about flashy box-score output and more about dependable versatility, roster flexibility, and experience in multiple roles — the kind of steady, high-floor piece coaches trust on special teams and in situational packages. If you want a rugged, mature contributor who fits a “do-your-job” culture, he checks that box nicely.
