FAU's Steady Veteran Forward with Untapped Potential
Andre Mattison, a Washington, DC native and Florida Atlantic forward, brings reliable bench depth as a 6'7" veteran who appeared in 27 games during the 2011-12 season, peaking with a perfect 4-4 shooting for 10 points at Harvard, alongside career averages of 1.6 PPG and 1.7 RPG in limited 2023-24 action per ESPN. His differentiator is gritty frontcourt intensity and rebounding nose, shining in high school retrospectives with double-doubles like 18 points and 15 boards; injury-free and team-first personality make him a low-risk fit for programs needing hustle bigs off the pine—worth watching if FAU expands his role.
