Gavin Howard is a freshman defensive back for Louisiana-Monroe in the 2026 season, and the early read is all about upside: he arrives at 5'11", 180 with a multi-sport, multi-phase high school résumé that hints at real playmaking ability. In high school, he posted 77 tackles, 8 interceptions, 15 pass breakups, and 3 fumble recoveries on defense, while also contributing as a receiver and returner — including two punt return touchdowns in 2025.
