Darnell Savage brings veteran speed and ball skills to the secondary
Savage is a rangy, high-energy defensive back whose NFL career has been built on range, tackling volume, and playmaking instincts, with 371 career tackles, 41 pass deflections, and 10 interceptions through 2025. His Maryland background shows he can fit a system that values quick processing and sideline-to-sideline coverage, and his continued NFL usage suggests coaches trust his reliability and versatility. The main reason to care: he offers experienced, assignment-sound secondary depth with enough burst to create turnovers, though he profiles more as a steady impact defender than a pure shutdown corner.
