Osaiasi Taueli brings rugged, versatile edge depth to UTEP
In the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Taueli was a high-effort, multi-role defender for UTEP, logging 10 games in 2022 with 4 tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss, then appearing again in 2023 as a defensive end with the same blue-collar profile. The upside is his versatility and toughness — UTEP has used him around the front seven, and he’s been recognized on the Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll in 2022 and 2023, which hints at discipline and reliability. He looks like a fit for a team that values assignment-sound depth, physicality, and special-teams-ready grit over flashy production.
