a high-IQ, team-first Marist forward who earned his stripes the hard way
Botticelli has been a steady, loyal Marist piece rather than a headline chaser: he arrived as a walk-on, stayed in the program, and was recognized on the 2022-23 MAAC All-Academic Team, which says plenty about his discipline and buy-in. The exact on-court production is modest, but the bigger value is his role-player profile—reliable, coachable, and comfortable doing the dirty work without needing touches. If a team wants a tough, selfless forward who brings maturity and program glue, he’s a fit; if it needs a high-usage scorer, that’s not his lane.
