steady frontcourt contributor with size, rebounds, and efficient finishing
Courtney Cushing was a 6-foot forward for Santa Clara whose profile was built on reliable interior work: in the 2000-01 season she averaged 2.3 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game, and as a sophomore in 2001-02 she delivered a career-high 17 points against Saint Mary’s while adding eight rebounds in that game. Her value was less about flash and more about toughness, willingness to do the dirty work, and being a dependable piece in the rotation. If a team wanted a hard-nosed forward with good effort and low-drama production, Cushing fit that mold nicely.
