big frame, lefty upside, but still searching for consistency
In the 2025 season, San Diego State left-hander Chris Canavan showed real strikeout ability but also uneven results, finishing with a 1-2 record, 9.64 ERA, and 20 strikeouts in 18.2 innings while allowing one walk or fewer in 16 appearances and ending the year with 11 straight such outings.[1][5] The 6-foot-6 junior brings a projectable build and relief flexibility, and early 2026 notes still list him as a key bullpen arm, which makes him interesting if your team wants a tall, live-arm lefty who can miss bats and may still be trending upward.[2][3][4]
