Markees Watts brings proven pass-rush production and veteran edge presence to Charlotte
Markees Watts is worth caring about because he’s one of Charlotte’s all-time disruptive defenders: in the 2022 season, he posted 41 tackles, a team-high 9.0 tackles for loss, and 4.0 sacks, and his Charlotte career total of 21.5 sacks still stands as the program record. He offers a real edge for any defense—explosive first-step burst, consistent backfield pressure, and battle-tested production across multiple seasons—though his recent pro-career knee injuries add a durability question that teams will want to monitor.
