Paul Wright brings veteran linebacker juice to Illinois State
In the 2009 season, Paul Wright was a productive, experienced Illinois State linebacker who ranked eighth on the team with 34 tackles, added a half tackle-for-loss, two pass breakups, and a quarterback hurry, with a season-high 10 tackles versus Austin Peay. His profile suggests a smart, dependable defender who can fit well in a disciplined scheme: he’s been around the block, tackles consistently, and shows flashes in coverage. The main appeal is steadiness over flash—exactly the kind of glue guy coaches love.
