Matt Roper brings a sturdy, blue-collar presence to App State’s defensive front
Roper profiles as a physical **defensive lineman** with a strong prep résumé, including **120+ tackles in his final high school season** and a team **Front 7 award**, which points to effort, toughness, and dependable run support rather than flash. App State’s roster listing identifies him as a multi-year letterwinner, suggesting a player who earned trust through consistency and work ethic[5]. For a team seeking a disciplined interior presence who can handle contact, play with energy, and fit a hard-nosed defensive culture, he looks like a sensible depth-and-development add rather than a pure stats headline.
