Cornell’s elbow-bounceback arm with swing-and-miss upside
In the 2025 season, Gus Magill flashed real relief potential for Cornell, posting a 3.18 ERA over 11 1/3 innings with six appearances, including a scoreless collegiate debut and a late-season stretch that featured four shutout innings against both Dartmouth and Princeton; in that Princeton outing he struck out eight while allowing just four baserunners. He’s a righty with a fastball-slider mix and sinker variation, and the biggest buying point is his resilience: he was working back from an elbow injury and still earned a season-ending role. If your staff wants a competitive, strikeout-capable bullpen arm with room to grow, he’s worth a look.
