Iowa’s walk-on WR who won with brains, grit, and special-teams value
Jack Johnson was a two-time All-Academic Big Ten selection at Iowa and earned his spot as a walk-on wide receiver, which tells you plenty about his work ethic and football IQ. He appeared in five games for the Hawkeyes in the 2023 season, but his real differentiator was reliability—coaches trusted him as a smart, buy-in player who fits Iowa’s culture of toughness and detail. If you value a high-character depth piece who adds value beyond the box score, he’s your guy.
