Michael Johnson brings captain-grade toughness and two-way production to JMU’s secondary
Michael Johnson stands out as a physical, high-motor safety with proven production and leadership traits: James Madison lists him as a three-year starter and team captain, and his prep résumé shows 72 tackles, an interception, plus 500 receiving yards and 377 return yards as a senior. That versatility hints at strong instincts, open-field competitiveness, and special-teams value beyond raw stats. He looks like a fit for a defense that wants a dependable communicator who can tackle, cover, and set a tone.
