John Gearon brings proven Princeton pedigree as a disruptive defensive line presence
Gearon is a recognized Princeton defensive standout, earning the program’s **Defensive Player of the Year** honor in the 2025 Princeton Football Yearbook, which signals impact beyond raw box-score production.[1] As a **DL**, his value is in being the kind of interior/edge line defender coaches trust for toughness, effort, and assignment discipline—traits that usually matter more than splash stats in Princeton’s system.[1][2] If you want a reliable, physically mature front-seven piece who has already separated himself inside the program, he looks like a strong fit.
