veteran NC State linebacker with a sturdy, physical profile
Ford Howell is a 6-foot-1, 240-pound linebacker from Memphis who came to NC State after Wake Forest and Iowa Western, bringing a sturdy frame and a track record as a durable, assignment-sound defender. In his NC State years, he was used heavily on special teams and at linebacker, which points to a coach-trust type of player rather than a headline hunter. His differentiators are toughness, experience, and versatility; the upside fit is a team that values reliability, downhill physicality, and someone who does the dirty work without much drama.
