Underscored MEAC Guard with High-Intensity Drive for Maryland Eastern Shore
Donchevell Nugent, a guard for the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks, is an undersized but high-intensity player whose primary differentiator is his relentless defensive pressure and willingness to take contact, traits that make him a tough fit for teams needing a gritty, low-maintenance contributor. While the Hawks finished 9-23 in the 2024-25 season and ranked 6th in the MEAC, Nugent’s value lies in his personality and intensity rather than elite scoring volume, as he often plays with a chip on his shoulder despite limited roster depth. He is a good fit for teams seeking a backup guard who brings energy and defensive hustle, though he may struggle against larger, more athletic opponents without significant development in his shooting consistency.
