veteran Lobos linebacker with New Mexico roots and a grinder’s profile
Xavier Vigil is a Santa Fe product who brings old-school toughness to New Mexico’s linebacker room, and his background suggests a high-effort, physical style that fits a team needing reliable tone-setters. Official Lobos info lists him at 5-11, 231 pounds, and notes he earned first-team all-state honors at both running back and linebacker before a senior-year injury in high school, which hints at versatility, contact courage, and resilience. His profile is more about grit and football IQ than flash—exactly the kind of lunch-pail defender coaches tend to trust.
