Jose Vasquez is Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s spark-plug leadoff threat
Jose Vasquez has emerged as a pesky on-base-and-pressure bat for Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the 2026 season, including a 3-for-5, 3-RBI outburst in the March 3 win over Little Rock and a game where he drew four walks and scored three times without an official at-bat. His calling card is table-setting: he’s shown speed, willingness to take a hit, and enough discipline to be a constant nuisance at the top of the order. At 5-foot-5, he wins with quickness, grit, and bat-to-ball tenacity rather than raw power, making him a fit for teams that value energy, pressure, and baseball IQ.
