seasoned Griz QB2 with gritty, dual-threat value
Shay Smithwick-Hann is Montana’s veteran backup quarterback, with ESPN listing him on the Grizzlies roster and Montana noting he entered Sept. 5, 2026, with 1,027 career passing yards and 10 touchdown passes. His value is less about gaudy numbers and more about experience, composure, and being ready when the call comes—exactly the kind of steady, low-drama option coaches trust in a pinch. He’s a proven change-of-pace QB who can keep an offense on schedule, and his long tenure in Missoula suggests toughness, patience, and a team-first mindset.
