Winston-Salem State Rams' Scoring Forward from the Mid-2000s Era
Darrell Wonge, a senior forward for the Winston-Salem State Rams, stood out as a reliable double-digit scorer and sharpshooter, dropping 15 points with three 3-pointers in a 2006 CIAA win over NC Central and 16 points in a thrilling 71-63 upset of NC A&T in 2008. His consistent mid-teens scoring made him a go-to performer in high-stakes games, showcasing clutch intensity and perimeter versatility that differentiated him in the Rams' lineup. Post-college, he pivoted to pro ball in NBL Canada (Player of the Week, 2011) before becoming a pro cinematographer—highlighting discipline and adaptability ideal for any team seeking tough, multi-skilled forwards.
