Mark Burgess brings veteran edge to Western Carolina’s right tackle spot
Mark Burgess is a long, physical offensive tackle for Western Carolina, listed at 6-foot-4, 295 pounds on the 2006 roster, and he slotted in as the Catamounts’ right tackle that season[3][5]. His differentiator is size-plus-experience: the former Tulane backup arrived with a college-ready frame and added game reps, which usually translates to steadier pass protection and a nastier edge in the run game[1][11]. He’s the kind of lineman who fits a team that wants maturity, reliability, and a straight-ahead trench presence more than flash.
