a seasoned Marshall linebacker with proven production and captain-level presence
In the 2005 season, Matt Couch was a top tackler for Marshall with 97 tackles, and in the 2006 season he earned second-team all-conference honors while continuing to anchor the linebacking corps. He stands out for steady production, football IQ, and a reliable, hard-working profile that coaches clearly trusted in key situations. His background also suggests strong intangibles: he was a four-year scholarship letterman and team captain, which hints at leadership and buy-in beyond the box score. If you want a dependable, defense-first linebacker, Couch fits nicely.
