Towering Senior TE with Upside on Charlotte's Rebuilding Squad
Charlotte 49ers senior TE Gus McGee (6-5, 250 lbs) posted 14 receptions for 127 yards and 1 TD in the 2025 season, showing reliable hands and mismatch size against smaller defenders in limited action.[1][5] A transfer from San Diego State who grinded through low-production years (just 11 catches total in 2023-24), his **13.7 yards per catch early in '25** hints at big-play potential once Charlotte's offense clicks.[3] Battle-tested intensity from multiple programs makes him a gritty, developmental fit for teams needing versatile blockers with receiving pop—no major injury flags.[6]
