Rhode Island freshman Adam Carpenter brings strikeout upside and real velocity
Adam Carpenter arrives at Rhode Island as a **right-handed pitcher** with legitimate power stuff for a freshman, showing an **86 mph fastball max** in Prep Baseball Report data and a game-tracking profile that also lists an **88 mph fastball** in live action. He was a high-impact high school arm, ranking among Rhode Island strikeout leaders with **76 strikeouts** on MaxPreps, which points to a pitcher who can miss bats and compete. For a staff looking for a developing arm with a competitive edge and upside, he looks like a good fit if you want velocity, strikeout ability, and projection.
