Hall of Famer Transitions from Historic Florida Tenure to NBA Coaching
Billy Donovan is no longer a college athlete—he's a legendary coach who was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in the 2025 class. As a player, Donovan averaged 2.4 points and 2.0 assists across 44 games during the 1987-88 season before pivoting to Wall Street and then coaching. His true impact came leading Florida to multiple NCAA tournament appearances and SEC titles, establishing himself as the winningest coach in Gators program history. He now serves as head coach of the Chicago Bulls, bringing decades of elite-level basketball expertise to the NBA.
