Veteran Guard Bringing Experience and Defensive Intensity to UNCW
Carter Skaggs, a 6-5 Washington State transfer, stands out for his veteran experience and high-intensity defensive presence rather than flashy scoring. In the 2019 season at UNCW, he averaged 6.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game with a 39.4% field goal percentage, but his true differentiator is his career-high 2 steals in 2025 and a personality that elevates team grit. While his scoring efficiency is modest, his intensity level and ability to read opponents make him a reliable fit for teams needing defensive stability and experienced leadership, especially given his history of staying healthy and contributing consistently in limited minutes.
