Ben Jahnz Brings Rhode Island a Local Arm with Mound Poise
Ben Jahnz is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed pitcher from Cumberland, R.I., on Rhode Island’s 2026 roster, a local arm with the kind of frame and right-right profile coaches love to develop. He earned Rhode Island high school recognition after a strong 2025 season, when he posted a team-leading five wins and a 2.29 ERA for Cumberland and was named first-team all-state in Rhode Island. The appeal is straightforward: he looks like a competitive strike-thrower with proven run prevention, plus the hometown edge and mentality that usually travel well.
