From UNCW Star Guard to Proven Coaching Powerhouse
Cherie Lea, a standout UNC Wilmington guard (2002-04), powered the Seahawks to a 37-19 record with First-Team All-CAA honors, Team MVP, CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and Hall of Fame induction in 2023—now thriving as Associate Head Coach at Duquesne after UNC Wilmington success, including mentoring her sixth 1,000-point scorer Jania Hall in Feb. 2025.
