Reliable Lefty Transfer Trending Up for Tulane
In 2026, Toporek has been a steady, strike-throwing left-hander for Tulane, working 43.0 innings with 40 strikeouts and 14 walks while earning American Conference Weekly Honor Roll recognition after a 5.1-inning shutout start against Wichita State.[2][3][5][10] His best trait is that he can miss enough bats to survive tough innings, and he has shown he can handle both bullpen work and spot-start duties.[2][7] The bigger fit question is consistency: his season ERA sits at 6.70, but the transfer pedigree and recent sharp outing suggest a pitcher whose value is more about feel, versatility, and competitive resilience than pure dominance.[2][12]
