Freshman RHP with size, strikeout upside, and early baptism-by-fire reps
In the 2026 season, Jack Scanlon is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound freshman right-hander for St. Thomas-Minnesota who brings a starter’s frame and live-arm upside from Delano, Minn.[1][3] His early college outings show real bat-missing flashes, including a 2.2-inning start against Kansas with 4 strikeouts, and he’s already been trusted in multiple leverage spots, even if the results have been uneven as he adjusts to Division I hitters.[7][13] The pitch-to-contact risk is still there, but the combination of size, strikeout ability, and freshman-age projection makes him a worthwhile development arm for a staff that can be patient.[1][7]
