Kate Ides was Harvard’s paint anchor and a proven captain
Kate Ides was a 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-3 forward for Harvard who earned captain status and was described by coach Kathy Delaney-Smith as a powerful, weight-room-driven “enforcer” with a physical presence inside; Harvard also credited her as a leader on and off the court during the Crimson’s 22-5, 14-0 Ivy title run in the 2002-03 season. She’s the kind of frontcourt player you care about if you want toughness, leadership, and interior production, not just box-score style stats.
